I've found a `76 Granada with a 302 @ 86K miles for $300. Says the body
is in rough shape but the engine is "strong". I have a `68 coupe that
used to have a 200ci but now has nothing. Three questions:
- Will the `76 spindle setup work for me. Seems like I read that
certain year(s) Granadas are needed for the swap but I don't
remember.
- Is the Granada rear axle the right width for a `68? I want to go to 5
lugs on the back.
- I've also read that 351-W heads have larger valves than 302 heads,
and that they will bolt on with basically no modification, at least
on early 302's. Is this advantageous, and will it work on a `76 302?
Thanks,
Carl

A great Mustang parts car.

Yep. You will need spindles, outer tie rod ends, tie rod sleeves,
rotors, calipers, brake hoses, master cylinder, hard lines (or adaptors
for your Mustang lines). I'd even look to see if the front coil
springs will fit. Don't forget to grab the brake pedal cover with
the really cool 'Disc brake' chrome ring ;-).

Your '67 is 59 1/2" and the Granada is 58 1/2" (wheel flange to flange).
I guess you need wider tires.
Our resident Granada owner, Keven, can help you with mixing rear
leafs to get the right combo for your '68.
I don't know about the parking brake cables.

I'm not a motorhead (tm) so I'd put the "strong" 302 in the Mustang
and worry about the 351W heads later. You might need the Granada radiator,
shroud, c4, motor mounts, ... to get everything to work.
