I've been working with my father for a few days now on his 65 Plymouth Fury
III Convertable 318CI w/ 2bbl carb and its driving me nuts. When he drives
around town its fine, but recently when he stated pulling a load at highway
speeds (55MPH) or more the car starts cutting out on him. When it does this
if he romps on it...it dies. My guess is float adjustment, carb rebuild or
perhaps some crud in the tank blocking the fuel line periodically. I had that
happen with my 57 T Bird a while back...needed to clean the tank. Any ideas
are welcome. So this will relate to the Mustang NG both my 67 fastback and
68 GTCS are purring great! Now that I said that, I'll have to rebuild the
engines next week.
