After a number of unsuccessful trips to the wrecking yard, I finally found
the perfect compact spare (at least for me). I thought I'd share it in case
it helps anyone else. It's a 125/90D16, which is 25" tall. That so happens
to be half way between my rear tires and my front tires. I actually found
several of them, and they came from late 80's/early 90's Jeep Cherokees (not
Grand Cherokees).

With a little soap, water, and tire shine stuff, it really looks brand new.

Hope this helps someone (let me know if it does! smiling smiley)

Sorry. Should have said that I have a 66 with 5 lug wheels. Right now I have
all drum brakes, but with the 16" wheels I'm hoping that will mean it will
work fine when I do my front disk brake conversion.

YMMV!
