Folks,
The 2005 Mustang is also featured on the cover of the new (Feb?) Motor Trend.
A several page article ensues; including a picture of a 68 Shelby, for those that
have never seen one.
I can't decide if I like it; the 68 Shelby/retro look is terribly cool. But it's a
Thunderbird with a Mustang front end. I understand that Ford needs to
reuse platforms/parts. But it just hasn't captured me yet. And the interior
looks cheaper than ever. Although a 400+ bhp supercharged V8 with IRS,
stiffer chasis, and 6-speed manual would be an upgrade from my current
Cobra.
This might help make me go for a 2004 Cobra instead of waiting for a 2005.
The way I see it now, the current Mustang/Cobra is a better looking car than
the proposed 2005.
What do other folks think?

Hello,
Ford Motor Company took the wraps off it's 2005 concept Mustang. Supposedly, the only difference between the concept
and the production car is that the production vehicle will be a four seater, as opposed to the two seater concept.
Anyways, follow the link below to see pictures and read about the car. I suspect that when you look at the car, the first
thing that comes to mind is "1968 Shelby Mustang"

Folks,
The 2005 Mustang is also featured on the cover of the new (Feb?) Motor
Trend.
A several page article ensues; including a picture of a 68 Shelby, for
those that
have never seen one.
I can't decide if I like it; the 68 Shelby/retro look is terribly cool.
But it's a
Thunderbird with a Mustang front end. I understand that Ford needs to
reuse platforms/parts. But it just hasn't captured me yet. And the
interior
looks cheaper than ever. Although a 400+ bhp supercharged V8 with IRS,
stiffer chasis, and 6-speed manual would be an upgrade from my current
Cobra.
This might help make me go for a 2004 Cobra instead of waiting for a 2005.
The way I see it now, the current Mustang/Cobra is a better looking car
than
the proposed 2005.
What do other folks think?

Subject: Ford introduces 2005 Mustang at NAIIS in Detroit today
Hello,
Ford Motor Company took the wraps off it's 2005 concept Mustang.
Supposedly, the only difference between the concept
and the production car is that the production vehicle will be a four
seater, as opposed to the two seater concept.
Anyways, follow the link below to see pictures and read about the car. I
suspect that when you look at the car, the first
thing that comes to mind is "1968 Shelby Mustang"

But it's a

Hello,
Ford Motor Company took the wraps off it's 2005 concept Mustang.
Supposedly, the only difference between the concept
and the production car is that the production vehicle will be a four
seater, as opposed to the two seater concept.
Anyways, follow the link below to see pictures and read about the car.
I suspect that when you look at the car, the first
thing that comes to mind is "1968 Shelby Mustang"

This has to be the worst design from Ford yet, and there's been a lot to =
compete with that honor. To be fair, the front and rear views aren't =
bad... of course totally derivative of the '68 Shelby Mustang. But the =
interior - looks like something out of a cheesy miniature. The dash =
looks like someone glued some tin and guages to a couple two-by-fours =
and wrapped it in vinyl/leather. It looks like a '64 Mustang/Falcon dash =
except that it's not '64 - what looks cool in a classic can just look =
foolish slapped onto a modern design. The side view of the car looks =
like they were trying to emulate one of the newer small =
BMW/Audi/Mercedes sports cars. Is there any originality left at Ford? It =
seems like they just slap some stuff from the old parts bin onto a copy =
of some other modern make and call it a "new" car these days. But, =
people will just keep buying this crap, bleeting all the way to the loan =
office...
Ask yourselves... were the Mustang designs of the late 60's/early 70's =
based on cars from the 40's or 50's? No... why is that? Hmmmm....
There's a good ol tune from the Guess Who that says "don't give me no =
second-hand world".... "got one already".

All,
I have to agree w/ Bill, Wow that thing is cool!
When I first saw pictures of the then new SN-95 Mustang
I thought it was much much better then the same old box
they've had out since '79. Since 1979!! crites!
Though it took a little time for the SN-95 design to
rub off on me, the '05 hit a home run w/ me at first glance.
I love the front and the rear (although I'm not a big fan of
LARGE cheap plastic tail lights). I also like that the body
wheel wells finally look proportional to the rest of the car.
I'd like to see what the production interior will look like.
It certainly does have styling cues of '67-68 but retro
is 'in' says PT Cruiser, the Beetle, the Mini, pirate shirts
and hip huggers jeans.

Randy '70 Mach 1

At this point I would have to say that I am not really pleased with it.
Looks
very BMW on the profile to me.

Folks,
The 2005 Mustang is also featured on the cover of the new (Feb?) Motor
Cobra.
This might help make me go for a 2004 Cobra instead of waiting for a
2005.
The way I see it now, the current Mustang/Cobra is a better looking car
than
the proposed 2005.
What do other folks think?

Hello,
Ford Motor Company took the wraps off it's 2005 concept Mustang.

Folks,
The 2005 Mustang is also featured on the cover of the new (Feb?) Motor

To me it looks like the current model which I always thought was a very =

Folks,
The 2005 Mustang is also featured on the cover of the new (Feb?) =
Motor Trend.
A several page article ensues; including a picture of a 68 Shelby, =
for those that

I can't decide if I like it; the 68 Shelby/retro look is terribly =
cool. But it's a=20

a 2005. =20
The way I see it now, the current Mustang/Cobra is a better =

Hello,
Ford Motor Company took the wraps off it's 2005 concept Mustang. =
Supposedly, the only difference between the concept
and the production car is that the production vehicle will be a =
four seater, as opposed to the two seater concept.
Anyways, follow the link below to see pictures and read about =
the car. I suspect that when you look at the car, the first

Don't you think they are kind of limiting the market it will appeal to by only having a 2 seater?
Haven't made up my mind yet whether I like it or not.

I've seen... and I just think that they use our "Mustang'love" to make
commercial things... the real problem is that it works well !
If they could only understand that we love the REAL mustang, but it make me
wonder... isn't a real mustang ?
In fact, there's less difference (in the far-shape) between a '05 mustang
and '69 than between a '73 and '69 !!!
But it couldn't help me to like it anymore.... too roundy things !!
'66 to '69 are the best in my mind...
PS : please apologize my poor english... (I'm French!)
