Howdy!

I have another problem. Since I'm converting to a T-5 for my '68 stang,
what flywheel can I use to use a late model 10.5" clutch?

The problem is that I'm thinking of going with a '94 Cobra transmission, and
they have an input shaft 17mm longer than most of the other T-5s, so I need
to use the '94 bellhousing, but I can't use the '94 flywheel since it's a
50oz imbalance and not a 28oz imbalance like my '79 302 block.

The machine shops I've talked to say it's difficult to change a 50oz
flywheel to a 28oz imbalance unless you have a spare crank and harmonic
balance they can use to put it on the balancing machine.

So, I'd need a pre '81 flywheel that fits the 10.5" diaphragm clutches
(which is what I want, unless you guys have a better idea), but the pre '81
flywheels only fit the 10" clutches (I've heard).

Maybe I could get a pre '81 flywheel that fits the '94 bellhousing that I
could get a machine shop to drill for a '94 clutch.

Any ideas from you T5 converters?

Thanks!

Best Regards,
Keven D. Coates

There are 2 ways to do this buy the Ford MotorSport flywheel part number
M-6375-A302 its made to use the newer clutch and has the 28OZ balance. The
other way is to call Windsor-Fox they have a flywheel with 28OZ balance that
will accept either the old or the new clutch. I used the MotorSport
flywheel on mine.
