This past July when I had my 289 rebuilt I had a Mallory Unilite distributor
installed. Last week when the engine died in the middle of an intersection
and I couldn't get it started, I thought I had a fuel filter problem or
something simple. As it turns out I had to have the ignition module replaced
because the rotor had cut into a wire.

Anybody ever heard of this happening?
Is this due to a design defect, improper installation ??
Is this covered under warranty?
It cost $177 for the ignition module from a local speed shop and $50 labor.
