I installed the plastic repair kit from underneath the dash. My floorboard
still got soaked. Then I bought a cover and used it religously and my
floorboard still got soaked. Then I got pissed and put silicone sealant in
the space (crack) between the fender and the cowl area on the outside top of
the car (the hood) . Guess what, I've never had a problem since! I don't
know what happened and can't explain it, but it solved my problem
completely. Also, the sealant doesn't look too bad in the crease but I
wouldn't recommend doing it if you've got a nice paint job. However, it's
better than drying out soggy carpet and underlayment.
