clutch assist spring - again

well I do not have my clutch pedal completely
together, so I am GOING TO FIGURE it out.

I have the steering column loose, and the manual
suggests a method like Brad mentioned, so I
plan to spend some time under there tomorrow
nite.

Mark,

I spent many hours fiddling with my clutch pedal trying to get the
spring back on. I kept trying to push the pedal towards the firewall,
because it looked like that would work. It didn't, and when I finally
followed the shop manual, it was easy to slip the spring in the slot on
the top of the pedal. If your 68 setup is similar to a 65, is shouldn't
take you more than 30 minutes to do the job.

The pedal setup is different between a '65 and a '68 car. The
early cars use a long extension spring. The later use a shorter
fat compression spring. I don't know, but suspect the
installation technique is different.
