Don,
Since you aready have a Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, why not
first look at Edelbrock's Performer Power Package for stock engines.
That is made up of your Performer Intake (#2181), Performer-Plus Cam
(#2182), and 1 5/8" headers (maybe shorty headers). Edelbrock claims
320 plus ft-lbs torque 2,500 to 3,500 RPM, and about 90 ft-lbs increase
over stock at 4,000 to 4,500 RPM. Go to edelbrock.com and look at Dyno
Test Results. Summit sells the cam with lifters for $118.95.

You can save a little more money by purchasing Summit's version of the
cam kit (identical specs) part #SUM-K4400 for $82.95. The only thing
better than more power is more power cheeply.

The cam I got was a PAW #10328. It has 270-280 duration, and 448-472 lift. It
worked well on my stock 351W in my LTD[80K, 2 bbl, FMX, 2:75 gears]
