Thanx for the reply Mike!
but.......
As I understand it, newer Holley's have a power valve blowout protection
system, as explained in past posts. Unfortunately, my holley has this, and I
checked the power valve and it is not blown.
So I still haven't solved the problem. Any other ideas?
thanx

Hi Marcus,
A couple of things to check.......Be sure float height is set correctly
for both bowls. Do you see gas dripping out of the boosters at idle?
If so, check the needle and seat on both bowls. If running an electric
fuel pump, make sure pressure isn't too high (5-7 psi on a Holley is
correct). Regarding power valves, if you are *sure* there isn't a
rupture, note the number on the valve itself. This indicates at what
vacuum the valve opens. If for some reason your engine produces little
vacuum at idle (big cam), it's possible the valve is opening and
richening the a/f ratio. This is unlikely though. Is this carb stock
or has someone modified it? Typically, Holleys are supplied with
jetting very close for the average installation. Under what rpm/driving
conditions is the car rich? How are you determining this?
Thanks,
Matt Wright
