To all:

I am hoping that someone can offer some suggestions with regard to a car
cover. I would like to buy a car cover for my '65 2+2. I have heard
horror stories of greenhouse effects, mold, mildew, getting stuck to the
cars paint, and seams of the cover scratching the paint. Yikes!

I have been eyeing some from Mustangs Unlimited, does any one have any
experience with these covers or fabrics?
- Technalon/Evolution 4
- Flannel lined polycotton
- Sentrex

I'm leaning toward the flannel lined polycotton, but would like to benefit
from some experience on this.

Also, I was going to purchase the service manual listed by Mustangs
Unlimited. Is this the one that lists repairs of various components in
excruciating detail? Is this the manual that is recommended? (I have a
Haynes for '65-'73. No good. It doesn't even list my 4100 carb in it.
And the style required to detail items for such different cars is pretty
annoying also...)

Any and all recommendations appreciated.

These are reprints of the Ford shop manuals and have just about all the
information thats available (I've got the '66). The main limitations are
instructions like "remove the frendle using the Rotunda frendle-remover
RT-XYZZY-1234 or equivalent". Sometimes there's a picture of the tool,
other times, you just have to guess that it's really a big hammer or
crowbar *grin*. Plus it still occasionally says things like "Step 1) remove
the cover to the ..." without saying for sure if there's a hidden screw, if
it snaps into place, or is fastened in some other way. Is this stuff
covered in the "assembly" manuals available from Mustangs Unlimited (and
other places)?

I've been using my Evolution 4 cover for about 1 month now (not very
long) on my '66 GT 2+2, and I've had no problems. I did have to make a
hole for the antenna, but it's very soft and breathes well, and resists
water (my sprinkler gets it wet every other day!).

I own a Technalon cover and have covered my 65 FB for 11 years with it now. No mold, no mildew no scratches, I'm very satisfied. It is now usually garaged and covered a very dry environment though.
