I'm "upgrading" a '65 convertable to Heidt front end and rack and pinion PS.

I'd like to run the front brake lines to a bulkhead connector and through the skirts. I'm having trouble locating SAE bulkhead connectors.

How have others passed brake lines through sheet metal (tubing through a gromet isn't and "eligant" solution.)

Thanks,

Greg McArthur

Russell and Earl's - The AN fittings are easier to find but they do have a
few in sae flare also. You'll likely find that the kit comes with AN hoses
anyway from the calipers, so you can probably just use AN bulkhead fittings
to get it in the car and then adapt from there.

Perfect solution! Meets the specification requested. (And obvious to those of you that have wrenched on cars forever; not so obvious to the engineer, wannabe mechanics among us who know what we want and don't know where to look!) It turns out that Russell makes brake lines designed to run from the caliper to the sheet metal that includes a bulkhead connector. All one needs to do is select the proper length flexible lines and terminate the hard brake line inside the car at the bulkhead connector.

Thanks Bryan!

Greg
