Hi All,

Although I am a long way from getting my GT500 into the paint shop (I am
determined to finish my Mach1's interior before I start on the next
project),
it sounds from the timescales that I had better start planning now!

I was trying to think of a way that we could make a list of "list-member
approved" bodyshops. I am personally interested in bodyshops/Mustang
shops in the San Jose, CA area, but it would probably be something
generally useful. What do you think? Perhaps its something we could
persuade the webmaster of Vintage-Mustang.com to host?

Regards,
Chris.

After cruising through a number of body shops (we too had the response "No
restoration work here"winking smiley, we took the tact of asking Mustang owners with nice
looking cars who painted their rides (cruise-ins a good source for this as
were auto parts store parking lots). A shop specializing in Mustangs was
mentioned a number of times and highly recommended. Went by, toured the
shop, talked about the car owners we had talked to, liked what we saw, were
given a very reasonable timeline and price, and went with them. The
reocmmendations proved correct, we were more than pleased with the work and
have received many compliments on same. Word of mouth also lead us to our
engine and transmission shops, both of which worked out well. One way to go,
maybe it'll work for others' paint woes.
