Hello everyone! I am new to the list and look forward reading it
regularly.
I have decided to begin thinking about which car I would like to
purchase in a few months. It seems the Fastback is my best choice right
now.
Just thought I would get everyones opinion on what is the best year
Fastback?
Currently I am considering a 66, 67, or 68. I think I am leaning toward
66 or 67. If anyone could give me a list of advantages/disadvantages of
either year, I would greatly appreciate it! I can't decide what style I
like, cause I like both. I will need to see each up close first. There
is a 68 Fastback GT or Cobra in town and it has all the body mods.
Also, how easy will it be for me to find one? I do not want a GT or
specialty model. Recently I saw a 68 Fastback in a trader for $6500
totally restored and garage kept, picture looked excellent. I know you
still need to check for rust, etc, etc.. but when I hear totally
restored I expect it to be in really good condition.
Ideally I would like a Black Fastback with performance tires, original
style spoke wheels, 4 speed manual (is a 5 or 6 speed conversion
available?), Fuel Injected 351/383, ac, ps, pdb... I think that about
does it.. just want a real nice car.. I'll hafta see what I can get to
start out with. But if I could get a setup like that already done it
would be excellent.
While I'm at it I might as well ask this. Is there any year or years
Fastback that allows you to access the entire inside from the rear
trunk? I know some years had fold down rear seats. Is it possible to
remove the seperator between the rear seats and trunk?
Thanks!!!!
