Hi all:
I've dragged the cobwebs out of the old '72 351C and its time to get serious
about a preservation program. I had to store the car in an RV lot over the
last 12 months. I lashed a tarp snugly over it to keep the elements off,
but it turns out this was a bad idea. Apparently the wind has been strong
enough to vibrate the grommets at the edge of the tarp against the car, and
now there is severe paint damage in several places!
This was the original paint on the car, but at this point I'm more
interested in preventing further sheet metal damage (There's some faint
rustiness in the battered areas) I'm looking for advice on how to patch
these spots...sand to bare metal, primer, some sort of topcoat type paint,
and a good wax? Suggestions? (I live in the SFO Bay Area,
incidentally...the car's sheltered in a covered carport and is a daily
driver)
TIA

Never used this stuff myself but the guys on the DeTomaso list rave about
it.
