Off charter, but here anyway:

When a sendmail machine becomes constipated or has a problem, it will
often send the messages out in reverse order, once things get
flowing again. I see this here if my machine is down, and an
upstream host is waiting for my machine to come back up.

Also, elm and other mailers have the capability to set sort-by
reverse order, thus allowing you to see the most recent mail first.

So it may a personal problem.
