Hi All,
Those of you who are members of several Ford lists, sorry for the
duplicate posts but I needed to spread this question around.

I bought a 351W that was "out of" a 69 mustang. I had an ADD moment and
was the proud owner of said motor *before* I bothered to check the
casting numbers, live and learn.

It turns out that the motor has late 74 casting dates and is the 75
model which has internal manifolds in the heads for air injection. The
heads have had lots of work - polishing, 2.02/1.90 valves, milled.010,
HD springs and keepers, completely assembled except for rocker arms.

My questions are as follows:
Smog laws aside, what effect, if any, will the air galleries have on the
operation if the inlet holes are plugged but the port openings are not?

Has anybody ever heard of "oil drop lines"? connected to these passages?

Would it be possible to install exhaust gas temperature sensors in the
inlet holes?

Would I be better off trying to sell these heads to another post 75
owner and use aftermarket heads for my application - 66 mustang coupe?

TIA John O

ps I brought the motor home in the back of my Bronco (Bronco content)

I don't know the answer about the 74 heads, but I am sure someone here has
experience with this setup. I am contacting you to let you know that I
have a set of bare D00E heads if you decide not to use the 74 heads and you
are interested in them. They are stock, so you can have any mods done to
them that you wish. If you want them, make me a reasonable offer and they
are yours.
