Jon,
My first Mustang was a '69 Sportsroof with a 302 2V, C4 automatic, and GT
(non-functional) hood scoop. It had the grille with the bright leading
edges. I had always thought that the non-Mach I/Boss 302 Mustangs came
with this grille and that the more performance oriented models had the
blacked-out grille without the bright trim. My second '69 Mustang was a
coupe with the 250 6cyl., C4 automatic, and bench seat. It had the
blacked-out grille. Maybe the performance oriented and the plain-Jane
models had the blacked out grille and the remainder got the bright
trimmed grille when available.

I've seen hundreds & hundreds - probably thousands of '69 Mustangs and never
once have I ever seen even ONE "bright leading edge" grille. Every single
one has been black.

I believe that there's even one on ebay (#1875006947) as we speak - and
probably a deal at the $200 asking price! ;-)
