Anyone,
I'd like a little help in determining if my 1969 Mustang is an original Grande or just the basic 2 door Hard top. First I'll tell you what I know:
It currently is dressed out as a Grande with the deluxe interior in Ivy Green and a black vinyl top. I've talked to 2 previous owners and
they are convinced it is an original Grande. The interior looks original, and one previous owner said it even had the extra insulation that Grande's came with.

But, the data plate on the door and the Kevin Marti report both give it a 65A body style (hardtop) with a trim package 2A (black standard Vinyl Seats).
The report says that it came with the black vinyl roof, so that part is consistent. The Marti report also denoted it came with "Black-Out Hood Treatment", and "Sports Appearance Package Group No Tape Stripe". I'd also appreciate help in knowing what these two mean as well....I'm not sure if the hood treatment was like the Mach 1 or a thinner strip, and I don't know what the second one is at all.

Is is possible that the data plate was stamped incorrectly? I'm trying to decide on how to restore this car. I like the Grande package, and would like to keep it as such if it really was an original Grande.

The VIN on the car is 9T01F164135. Any help on trying to unravel this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich Lehring
