Jeff,
How long have you had your car? Is it possible that a previous owner
replaced the windows. I understand that this is a weakness in the 69
design that was corrected in 70. Some people might have upgraded. Just
a thought.
************************************************************************
Still dealing with my overheat problem. The cylinders look great. No
lip at the top or wear on the walls. Maybe that's because they've been
recently bored out and possibly too much. Was told that that is a
possible cause of the problem. I'll have to mike (measure?) it. If it
has been overbored, what the heck can I do? Would a 4 row radiator and
hi-flow water pump compensate for the heat created by the thin walls?
Any suggestions are still greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

My 70 was built in October '69 and didn't have the bolt in glass,
[Nat.] I found that late in the '69 production year, the change was
made, and halfway through the '70 production year they changed back. I
also found that it was a real pain to work on myself, and most of the
time cheaper to buy one of the many bolt in kits, and do it yourself,
than to have a pro work on the bad windows.

Andy,
I've had my car about 4 years. The previous owner(s) did many things to my
car, but changing the door glass wasn't one of them :-]. When I pulled and
cleaned the glass prior to painting the body, both pieces bore the "9E"
etching. I have to believe they are original to my Dearborn car.
I've also heard that boring a big block past .030" makes them run hot due
to the thin cylinder walls. Good luck.

But we have to remember that he reported that his bolt in side windows
had date codes of 9E.
I would like to know the serial number and projected build date of the
car maybe it can shed some light on the discussion.
