Hi all, I am replacing my remote side view mirror with a new one from
Mustangs Unlimmited (I got the reproduction, not the more expensive "show
quality" one). I had some difficulty getting the old mirror off the
car because the original "riv-nuts" have become loose and spun freely when I
tried to remove the screws. After mutilating the old screws, and slightly
bending out the riv-nut holes in the sheet metal, I finally got the old
mirror off. When I went to install the new mirror I found that the new
mounting screws that came in the box do not match the original screws and
threads. I have since found this mounting kit on MU's web site -
mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=AMK802+01. I assume some,
if not many, of you have had experience with this. How do I remove the old
riv-nuts without messing up the sheet metal or the riv-nut holes? And are
there any tricks or tools necessary for properly installing the new
riv-nuts? Or should I forget this approach and try something totally
different?

Thanks!
