I just picked up a wrecked 66 hard top to use as a donor car for my up
and coming 65. I am planning on using the air and power steering.
Question 1: Are the units from the 66, the same as the 65 ? I am not
looking for a show car result, just the ability to drive in Mississippi
without loosing a pound of water wt. every min.
Question 2: Does any one know if I can get directions on how this should
go in? I am going to take right off the other car and put it in mine but
you never know if it was put in wrong before, or if I will loose track
of what I am doing (not that that would ever happen). What pieces do I
need to make sure I get and what wiring needs to be done.
Question 3: Best place to get a condensor and dryer if I need it. I see
in the catalogs that they mention integral and hanging, what do they
mean.
Question 4: What is the purpose of the fan clutch and what do I need to
do to remove it, is it only bolted onto the fan etc. I have not gotten
the car yet and looked at it, only chiltons etc. not ver informative on
function.
Thanks for any help, When I get all the parts I need off this car (it
was fully reastored when it was run into a pole) I will put out a
message to see if anyone else needs something.

The same? For your usage yes. There were slight differences between the
dealer and factory installed units.

I would use the donor car and a copy of the exploded views provided in
the Illustrated Master Catalog (if you need it e-mail me)
Some items you might miss
Radiator shroud
Wiring from the compressor to the firewall
Compressor to intake manifold bracket
Firewall insulator and brakets for the hoses
All the pulleys (could be a pain to find the right ones if you don't)
Hose retainers that attach to the shock tower supports

Intergral or hanging refers to the later (67-up) style of AC. All 64-66
used hanging or underdash units.
