All-
I've ordered the 67 dual bowl master cylinder and the brake line
conversion kit from CJ Pony Parts to upgrade my 65 with manual drum
brakes. I'm fine with what I need to do to run the new brake lines,
but I'm wondering what I'm up against for swapping out the old MC
with the new? I have a shop manual that I'm guessing I"ll need to
follow for removing and re-installing the MC, and know that I need to
use the 65 push rod. So are there any tips and/or gotchas that I need
to be aware of? Will I be hating life doing a bunch of work under the
dash? Thanks for any insight you all might have!

I did my son's coupe several years ago. Piece of cake. Two bolts to remove
the old M/C. Two bolts to put the new one on.
A cotter pin holds the push rod onto your brake pedal. It's not hard to get
to or remove with a pair of needle nose pliers. Even for a 250lb+ person
like me.
Just follow proper procedure and make sure you bench bleed the new m/c
BEFORE you bolt it on the car.
Lance.

If you're okay with the brake lines - the MC will be easy squeezy. Have
lots of light under there to see your brake switch assembly parts and
figure 10 to 20 minutes upside-down bending your back over the door sill
or in a compromising position with your legs over the driver's seat
back. Some find it easier (less painful) to just remove the driver's
seat; especially if you're tall or wide. I usually just suffer through it.
Double-check that the old and new pushrods will protrude about the same
distance behind the MC mounting face and bench-bleed your MC before you
bolt it on.
FWIW,
