I am planning to lower the upper A arms on my '65 coupe, ala Shelby. My
question is, if I combine the 1" lowering of the A arm with a 1"
lowering spring, contour 620's or the like, will I run into handling
problems because of the severe change in the steering geometry? If not,
what can be done in the rear to get a similar lowering of height?

Don't want to slam the car, just get it down so it handles well on the
twisty roads around here. Will be adding a 1" front and 3/4" read anti
sway bars and sub frame connectors to flatten out the ride along with
lowering the ride height.

I did the same thing on my 66. I don't recall any handling
problems.

For the rear, you can use lower blocks, reverse or mid eye rear leaf
springs, or re-drill holes in your non-stock shackles. I'd suggest
you get the front complete and then worry about the rear. If your
rear leafs are original, the front end may still be higher than the
rear.

my car is '67 coupe. I've been happy with handling from lowered
A arms and negative wedge using ProMotorsports kit. haven't noticed
any adverse affects related to steering (turning, bump steer, etc.).
in back I have also been satisfied and would recommend the mustangs
plus mid-eye springs. they also sell a reverse eye but I think that
drops the rear an inch too much. they have 4, 4.5, and 5 leaf
springs. I'm happy with my 4.5 leaf [slightly stiffer than stock].
I think 4 or 4.5 would be the way to go for street.

I agree with Danny. The Pro Motorsports kit (w/neg. wedge) will drop around
1.5 inches, as always YMMV. I put mid eye (5 leaf, I think) springs in the
rear, 1" drop. I still have the factory sway bar up front & nothing in the
rear, the car handles fine. I want to go with a slightly bigger front bar
when I've recovered from the paint & body work. Pro Motorsports claims you
will NOT need a rear bar if you go with their kit & drop the rear. I drive
my 64.5 hard and I'm inclined to believe them.
