Hi everybody!!
Im Diego from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Some may remember me (does anybody?)
Ive got a 67 convertible 4speed.
Ive been off from the list for a couple of months, I didnt have much time
for reading mails.Im back, and theres a new babe in the family. My brother
just bought a beautiful 68 coupe, 289auto. in an incredible original
condition(theres fomoco all over the car, even original head lights,(thats
pretty difficult to find here). He paid $6000, is that a good price?
Heres the problem, the car has been sleeping in a garage since the
transmission got broken 5 years ago.Tranny is already fixed, next step is
firing up.Im a little bit concerned about what the 5 years rest could have
done inside the engine. My brother is pretty good at mechanics and sais
nothing should be wrong.
He cranked the engine last week after putting some kind of remover? through the
plugs holes.
Any suggestion would be appreciated
see ya

At the very least I would do the following:
- pull the gas tank, drain it, and have it boiled out.
- clean out all gas lines and replace the filter
- rebuild the carb
I had to do the above to get my '66 running after
it had sat for 3 years.
Good Luck!
