Yes, You are correct! The 351 Windsor can be dropped right in a '65-'66 Mustang, but a 351 Cleveland cannot without modification. Thanks for clearing that up.
Also, while we're on the subject, As we all know, the '67-'68 engine bay is much larger, and can take a 428 stock fit, but did you also know that a 460 will drop right in too??? I had a friend that pulled a 460 ford from a junker, and dropped it right into his '67 Mustang.. I thought that I was seeing things... I wasn't! It really fits!!! With no mods! Have fun trying to change the plugs though!
Tony.

Also, as far as I remember, you'll need a different radiator. I believe the
hoses are exactly opposite that of the 289.
I have a '67 Coupe with a 351W in it at a friend's house. I haven't visited
it in a while... Perhaps I should...
I also had problems with brackets for some of the accessories...

more space than a regualer 289 would beilve it or not...... The only
problem that they encountered was cooling problems. So when and if you do
it, Make sure you use all stock fan equipment, and add a upgraded radiator
and shroud.. Then all should be O.K.
