Hello friends,

We flanged out our NEOKLA SCCA road rally schedule last night.
Of course, we would absolutely love it if any of you would like to
participate in any of these road rallies!

In the past two years, we have done all timed events, which are my
favorite. Turnout has been low though...anywhere from 2 to 8 cars
only. So, this year, we are trying to appeal to a broader interest by
running a variety of road rallies, from gimmick to timed events.

Here is our calendar:

April 5
Gimmick rally in the Osage Hills, northwest of Tulsa (obscure visual
clues such as yard ornaments variety of gimmick
rally). Rallymasters, Rick Lindsay and Rod Van Koughnet.

June 7
All Club Poker Run gimmick rally in Tulsa area. Garry Deaton, as rally
master, will be making the big push to attract
all car clubs in the area. Some portion of the entry fees will go back
to the car clubs. Garry has a fun sounding alternative way to play
the cards, instead of making normal poker hands. In other words, you
don't have to be a poker player to play.

July 12
Happiness is Sunrise Hare and Hound rally. By mid July, it'll be pretty
hot for rallying in daylight, so we'll start at 0'dark:30 and rally to
breakfast.
Location and rallymaster to be determined.

September 13
Getting back to more technical rallying, Bob Strattan will be
rallymaster for a TSD at a location to be determined.

October 25
The London to Paris TSD rally, put on by Lang Kirschberger and Keith
Wheeler of the Arkansas SCCA. London and Paris
are small burgs near Russellville, AR. The route will probably include
the awesome twisties over Magazine Mountain,
the highest point in AR.

November 15
Garry Deaton will be rallymaster for a TSD at a location to be
determined. He is considering a nice fall tour of the
areas between Locust Grove, the Arkansas line, and Talequah.

Other firm dates to chisel in stone:

February 21 and 22
Tresspassers Wil and 100 Acre Wood SCCA Club Rallys in Salem, MO (just
south of Rolla). These are true all-out
performance rallies. Definitely fun to go watch!

November 29
Rally Sprint Oklahoma, around the grounds and backwoods of Hallett.
This is also an SCCA Club Rally. Fun to watch,
but also great for beginners to try their hand. Mike Halley is
organizing.

Some less firm dates that we will eagerly anticipate more details:

Shannon De Wolfe is planning three northern Texas TSD rallies.
March 29...a tarmac event starting in Jacksonville, TX...2pm at the
Wal-Mart...German theme, finishing at a Bavarian restaurant for dinner.
June or July...a dirt road event
December...Dallas to Marshall tour rally

Best regards,

Rick Lindsay / Tulsa
