Does anyone know the details of upgrading the 65/66 6 cyl. Transmission to a better unit? Can a 67+ bell housing be modified to fit the early 6 cyl. Block, which has a different bolt pattern than the 67+ unit. We have rebuilt the early motor and do not want to replace it. Also cannot afford a Dagenham 4 speed.

Most 66s and some late 65 200s were tapped with another set of larger diameter bolt holes. These can be found above the existing bell housing bolts. If your engine does not have these extra set of unused holes it can not be adapted to the larger bell housing.
