My car has a low frequency rhythmic rumble that starts at around 65 mph. The cycle is about a 3 second interval. Comes in and Fades out. As the speed increases to 75 mph the cycle drops to about 2 second interval with a little more intensity. No shimmy or vibration in the steering wheel. No loss of vehicle handling characteristics. Sounds like it's coming from the engine compartment, I suspect bad motor mounts. I am also thinking about driveshaft imbalance.
Does anybody think they might know what the problem is or could help me troubleshoot this issue?
