Holy Cow What Is That?

Driving home from the office the other day I had just depressed the clutch and was getting ready to downshift into 3rd gear when there was this horrible, loud, metallic kind of screeching noise. My first thought was "Holy Cow! I think I just lost a bearing or something." Letting off the clutch the rpms jumped, but the pitch of the still very loud noise didn't. "Hmmm. That's odd..." OD Lockout

The OD isolating switch quit working. I took the boot off the gearshift and hot wired to the switch just to test the rest of the system. OD worked fine. New switch is ordered.

Engine Temp Guage

A couple of days ago the engine temperature guage stopped working. Thanks to the folks here on The MG Experience Forum I was able to locate the temperature sending unit. Turns out the connection to the wire was dirty and not making good contact. Cleaned it up and the guage is registering perfectly.

PB Blaster

The level just under the dash that controls the fresh air flow from the vent in front of the windshield into the cabin wouldn't budge. A good shot of PB Blaster and a push from a big screwdriver freed things up in just seconds. Check another one off the list of things to do.
