as a kid i read the story of "the Red Car" which is back in print and fell in love with the MGTC in the story but as a kid in hs that introduced my to the mg midget. i owned a 1967 mg midget from 1974-2008 which i used as a daily driver for the first 20 years.i bought it for 500.00 as my first car at age 17. this was a spoked wheeled british racing green car. i loved every minute of driving it. although i have allways maintained it myself. when i need a mechanic i have allways used coventry garage in raritan nj (dan the owner used to race midgets at limerock)although it was on the second clutch i managed to get 70,000 miles on the previous clutch. with a total of (1),25,000 miles on the car. unfortuniatly the body was worn out so i looked for a replacement car or body. this year june 2008 i bought a restored bright red spoked wheeled 1969 MG Midget from an estate sale. although i hated selling the 1967 at least i now have a nice driveable mg.
